Monster Mess: Kaiju Cleanup Playtest Registration Opens on Steam

Join KaijuCorp: Playtest Registration Opens for Kaiju Cleanup

Developer Brightrock Games, in partnership with publisher Mythwright, has announced that playtest registration is now officially open for their newest satirical job simulation game, Kaiju Cleanup. Gamers across the globe can sign up via the game’s Steam page to secure their chance to participate in early testing. The game offers a bizarre yet therapeutic twist on the cleaning genre.

The Dirty Job of Monster Disposal

Kaiju Cleanup tackles the question of what happens after a giant, city-destroying monster is finally defeated. You step into the shoes of a hazardous-materials cleaner, a courageous soul who is tasked with cleaning up the irradiated, acidic, and often explosive remains of colossal alien titans. The player’s job is not just scrubbing, but full monster disposal. This involves reducing a skyscraper-sized carcass to nothing.

The game is a blend of different simulation genres. It is often described as a mix between the therapeutic cleaning of PowerWash Simulator and the detailed disassembly of Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Players will use a range of specialized tools for the task. They will need to use a meat-wrenching claw to extract innards, a laser cutter to slice through tough monster flesh, and a heavy-duty power-washer to clean the resulting detritus until the hazard zone is sparkling clean.

A Cutting-Edge Career Path

Players join KaijuCorp, working to turn the scrappy organization into the world’s best Kaiju Cleanup firm. Completing missions allows players to upgrade their equipment, customize their base, van, and outfit. This provides a compelling progression system. Players can also explore the environments where Kaiju have died, piece together the truth about the monsters through audio logs, and check their facts with the in-game news program, InfoBlast.

The developers have warned that the early playtest will be super early and potentially buggy, but every player who signs up on Steam will eventually receive an opportunity to test the game. Developers also noted a smaller-scale test might run on their Discord server before the main Steam playtest begins.

Overwhelming Community Response

Since its announcement, Kaiju Cleanup has generated massive interest. The game has already surpassed one hundred thousand wishlists on Steam. Furthermore, over sixty-one thousand players have already signed up for the playtest. This strong community reaction suggests a significant demand for this unique, monster-sized take on the popular cleaning simulation genre.

THIS IS our take:

Kaiju Cleanup is the darkly humorous, deeply satisfying simulator we did not know we needed. Who knew the visceral, gory job of carving up a giant monster would be so appealing? The blend of satirical dark humor with meditative cleanup tasks is genius. If you are looking for a game that will make you forget your real-world problems by tackling bigger, slimier, and more radioactive ones, this is it. Get ready to power-wash some monster guts.
