Have you ever wanted to play exclusive games from different platforms without constantly switching consoles? A Chinese YouTuber and modder known as 小宁子 XNZ has turned that idea into reality by creating a wild all in one gaming machine that combines PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 into a single device called Ningtendo PXBOX 5.
The project draws inspiration from the cylindrical design of older Mac Pro models, resulting in a compact yet striking form factor that houses hardware from all three major console makers. The goal was simple but ambitious: allow players to enjoy games from every ecosystem using just one machine, without the clutter of multiple power cables and separate setups.
What truly sets this project apart is the construction process. After dismantling all three consoles, the modder arranged their mainboards around a triangular heatsink structure designed to cool the systems simultaneously. Instead of relying on expensive industrial machining, she used an ancient metalworking technique known as lost wax casting. This method helped reduce production costs while preserving the complex shape needed for effective heat dissipation, resulting in a functional and visually impressive thermal core.
Assembly began by mounting the PS5 and Xbox Series X motherboards onto copper plates to spread heat toward the central cooling structure. Liquid metal thermal compound was replaced with standard thermal paste for improved safety and long term reliability. The third side of the setup was reserved for the Nintendo Switch 2, which features a custom designed dock printed using a 3D printer. This dock includes a spring mechanism for easy insertion and removal, along with a bottom USB C port that allows the handheld console to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the system.
Power management is another highlight of the Ningtendo PXBOX 5. Remarkably, the entire setup runs on a single 250W GaN power supply. Under heavy load, total power consumption peaks at around 225W, while idle usage remains very low. The main limitation is that only one console can be actively used at a time. Attempting to run multiple systems simultaneously would exceed the available power and trigger a shutdown.
The exterior design features wooden paneling and programmable LED lighting that changes color depending on system status. An Arduino board controls power switching and video signal routing, while a large button on top of the console allows users to switch between platforms in about three seconds. This makes it possible to jump from a Nintendo Switch game to a graphically demanding PS5 title almost instantly.
While the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 does lack an optical disc drive, meaning all games must be played digitally, it still stands out as a polished DIY project that looks closer to a factory made product than a simple home experiment. The result is a powerful showcase of creativity and engineering skill, proving that with enough passion, even the dream of uniting rival gaming platforms into a single box can become reality.
