Black Desert Mobile Introduces Great Desert Unification, Chaos Runes, and Graphic Upgrades
Pearl Abyss has announced a new update for Black Desert Mobile, introducing the unification of Great Desert difficulty levels, the addition of Chaos tier runes, and early-stage graphic and performance upgrades. This update delivers several key features previously revealed during the Calpheon Ball 2025 and aims to significantly improve the overall gameplay experience.
Great Desert Difficulty Unification
As announced during Calpheon Ball 2025, all three difficulty levels of the Great Desert have now been merged into a single unified region. This updated area features significantly stronger monsters, with Combat Power requirements exceeding the former highest tier Sahazad difficulty, ranging from 30,000 CP up to 83,000 CP to accommodate continued player progression.
To further support character growth, new reward opportunities have been added. Adventurers can now obtain Lightstones with Protection Power and Fog Crystals with Protection Power by defeating monsters. Additionally, the amount of Edana Coins obtained through excavation has been increased, ensuring that time spent in the Great Desert contributes more meaningfully to character development.
A new hunting zone that drops Ancient Seeds has also been introduced, expanding availability beyond the previously exclusive Hystria Ruins. Wandering Merchants now appear within the unified Great Desert as well, offering updated items and quantities.
New Item: Chaos Tier Runes
Black Desert Mobile has also introduced Chaos tier runes, the highest rune grade currently available. These runes can be enhanced using materials obtained from the Great Desert, such as Fog Crystals with Protection Power, and are designed to provide additional Combat Power for adventurers tackling increasingly challenging content.
Chaos tier runes can be crafted using a combination of a +20 Ancient Rune, 10 Chaos Mechanisms, 20 Ahkrads, and 2 Ocean Amber, offering long-term progression goals for high level players.
Graphic Upgrades Ahead of Full Remaster
As part of the remaster roadmap announced at Calpheon Ball 2025, Black Desert Mobile has received early graphic and memory optimizations. These improvements focus on enhancing overall gameplay performance ahead of the full remaster, particularly benefiting large scale multiplayer combat with smoother gameplay and more stable frame rates.
In Game Events
To celebrate the update, Black Desert Mobile is hosting the “3 Weeks of Cooperation: Mission and Strategy Event,” running for three weeks starting January 20, 2026. The event features cooperative missions across all regions, along with progression focused activities designed to support new adventurers.
Completing event objectives unlocks additional bonus events, encouraging greater community participation. In addition, the “Character Development Strategy Event” invites experienced players to share tips and guidance with newer adventurers. Participants can earn various rewards, including special titles and Black Pearls, by completing missions and engaging in community activities.
