The special video dives into the story and motivations of Kliff, the game’s main protagonist, as well as the continent of Pywel, a seamless open world where the narrative unfolds. Pywel features vast wilderness areas, bustling cities, ancient ruins, and diverse regions, all set against a backdrop of escalating conflict and supernatural threats.
Players take on the role of Kliff, a warrior of the Greymanes, a group from the northern region of Pellune known for valuing peace and unity. Crimson Desert begins when that fragile peace collapses, forcing Kliff to reunite the scattered Greymanes and reclaim their homeland. As the journey expands, players gradually uncover that the fate of the entire continent is at stake.
The Abyss and Core Narrative Conflict
The central threat originates from the Abyss, a mysterious realm that disrupts balance and causes fragments to fall into Pywel. These fragments become the source of growing chaos, as unknown forces attempt to exploit their power.
