The official reveal of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 has brought exciting news for longtime fans of the franchise. While the collection is headlined by the long awaited modern release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Konami has confirmed that only Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will feature online functionality in this package.
Despite both titles historically supporting online features, Konami clarified that Metal Gear Online from MGS4 will not be included. Instead, all multiplayer support in this collection is focused entirely on Peace Walker.

PvP and PvE Multiplayer Confirmed
The online component of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will include both competitive and cooperative modes. In PvP, players can enter a Deathmatch mode that supports up to six participants, battling until the highest scoring player emerges victorious.
For those who prefer teamwork, Peace Walker’s PvE missions allow up to four players to cooperate in objective based operations. These missions range from stealth focused infiltrations to large scale boss encounters, with special cooperative actions designed to encourage coordination and tactical play.
What’s Included in Master Collection Vol. 2
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 brings together several iconic entries in the series, updated for modern hardware. Alongside Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker, the collection also includes the classic Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, originally released on the Game Boy Color.
Additional content includes an art gallery, soundtrack library, and an in depth database mode that showcases rare artwork and behind the scenes lore from across the franchise.
Visuals and Presentation
Peace Walker in this collection is based on the HD version previously released, featuring higher resolution character models compared to the original PSP release. However, Konami has confirmed there are no major overhauls to lighting systems or core mechanics. The experience remains faithful to the original design, focusing on the story of Big Boss as he builds his private military force.
With online multiplayer returning exclusively for Peace Walker, Master Collection Vol. 2 offers a mix of preservation and renewed connectivity for fans eager to relive one of the most cooperative focused entries in the Metal Gear series.
