Genshin Impact Anime Project Confirmed Still in Development and Progressing Smoothly

Recently, some Genshin Impact fans have started to wonder whether the anime project announced years ago was still alive. Since its spectacular teaser reveal back in 2022, official updates have been extremely quiet, leading to growing speculation and concern within the community. However, those worries can finally be eased as the development team has officially confirmed that the Genshin Impact anime project is still moving forward without any issues.

Genshin Impact Anime Is Still on Track

The Genshin Impact anime was first announced in September 2022 when miHoYo, now known as HoYoverse, revealed a collaboration with renowned animation studio Ufotable. Alongside the announcement, a beautifully animated concept trailer of around three minutes was released, instantly generating massive excitement among fans worldwide.

After that initial reveal, updates became scarce. As time passed, many fans began questioning whether the project had been delayed indefinitely or quietly shelved.

Concerns Around Ufotable Workload

Speculation intensified when reports surfaced that Ufotable was heavily committed to the production of Demon Slayer, particularly the Infinity Castle arc, which requires an enormous amount of manpower and production resources. This led to assumptions that other projects, including the Genshin Impact anime, might have been affected or pushed aside.

The situation was often compared to a restaurant overwhelmed with orders, where certain dishes must wait while others take priority.

Official Confirmation From the Development Team

During Genshin FES 2026 held in Shanghai, the development team directly addressed these concerns. Aquaria, a representative from the Genshin Impact development team, stated during a live stream that the anime project is continuing smoothly with no unexpected problems or obstacles. The statement was later translated and shared by fans.

According to the team, the Genshin Impact anime is positioned as a long term project. Much like the game itself, which delivers content gradually and carefully, the anime is not being rushed. The focus remains on maintaining high quality rather than speeding up production at the cost of artistic standards.

Patience in Exchange for Quality

In simple terms, the Genshin Impact anime has not been canceled, nor is it stuck in development trouble. It is simply a high effort production that requires time to meet the expectations associated with both HoYoverse and Ufotable.

For fans, the real question is no longer whether the anime will happen, but when it will finally be ready to watch. Until then, anticipation and discussion continue to grow, and This Is Game SEA will be sure to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
