Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Official Title Has Been Decided After Final Shortlist

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Official Title Has Been Decided

Square Enix has reportedly reached a final decision on the official title for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, the concluding chapter of the remake trilogy.

Reports dating back to early November 2025 indicated that Square Enix had narrowed the title candidates down to just two options. The final decision was made after the Paris Games Week event. In an interview with GameSpot, director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the title has now been officially finalized.

“It was up to Nomura to decide which name to use, and yes, after returning from Paris Games Week, he made the final choice. So I can say that the title has been decided,” Hamaguchi stated.

The term Remake in Final Fantasy VII Remake does not simply refer to a technical upgrade of the original 1997 title. Instead, it represents the concept of rebuilding fate itself, adding new layers and meaning to the narrative. This idea was carried forward in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which expanded on the reimagined world and explored the influence of Sephiroth’s plans in greater depth.

With the first part titled Remake and the second titled Rebirth, many fans have theorized that the final installment could be called Final Fantasy VII Reunion. However, recent announcements from Square Enix revealed another title using the word Reunion, leading to speculation about whether it would still be used for the final chapter of the remake trilogy.

That said, the use of the name Reunion elsewhere does not necessarily rule it out as the title for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3. Until Square Enix makes the official reveal, the exact name remains undisclosed.
