Nearly a year after its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds continues to prove its long-term ambition. The latest entry in the Monster Hunter series delivered a full next-generation experience with a new engine, larger environments, and more dynamic ecosystems. Capcom has officially confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds is currently developing a full expansion DLC, designed to match the scale and impact of previous expansions such as Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Expansion Promotion Planned for This Summer
According to Capcom, the expansion is already in active development, with more information expected to be revealed during the upcoming summer period between June and August. While specific details have not yet been disclosed, players can expect a substantial increase in playable content, including new monsters, quests, systems, and extended endgame progression.
Historically, major Monster Hunter expansions have significantly expanded playtime and redefined endgame challenges. This announcement strongly suggests a similar approach for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Ongoing Events and Short-Term Updates
Before the expansion arrives, Capcom has also outlined a packed schedule of in-game activities. Starting February 18, players can expect new event quests and limited-time challenges. Additional crossover quests connected to the upcoming Stories 3 release are also planned.
Later in the month, February 28 will mark the one-year anniversary of Monster Hunter Wilds, featuring a special celebratory event. This serves as an ideal opportunity for returning players to sharpen their weapons and rejoin the hunt.
