Marvelous Achieves Record Game Revenue with Rune Factory and Story of Seasons

Japanese developer Marvelous has announced record-high game revenue, bouncing back to profitability thanks to strong sales of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar.

In its third-quarter financial report for the fiscal year (October–December 2025), Marvelous revealed that game-related revenue surged 159%, marking an all-time high. Operating profit also increased by 87%, reflecting the success of its flagship series and helping the company recover from consecutive quarters of losses.

🎮 Console Games Lead the Charge
The company plans to continue focusing on console titles, with the continued success of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar driving strong revenue. Updates and planned DLCs for these games are key strategies to extend game lifespans, maintain player engagement, and maximize profit over time.

📱 Mobile Games Steady but Quiet
On the mobile side, performance has been more subdued. Existing titles like Dolphin Wave continue generating profit, but the newly launched Browser Sangokushin Ten in October underperformed, attracting a smaller player base than expected.

🔮 Looking Ahead
Marvelous is developing new entries in its existing franchises while also exploring indie titles. One highlight is Project N, the latest installment in the Senran Kagura series, currently under development. Fans can expect gameplay previews in the near future.

With a combination of strong legacy titles and strategic updates, Marvelous is now positioned for sustained growth in 2026 and beyond.
