FiveM Spotted Preparing for Steam Release Soon

Fans have discovered that FiveM appears to be making its way to Steam in the near future, suggesting that the popular online network tool could soon become more convenient to access. While some players in certain regions may be hesitant to use FiveM, it remains extremely popular worldwide for supporting private and community driven servers on Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstar Games has also fully acquired the team behind the tool, ensuring official oversight moving forward. With all of this, the platform seems ready to become even more accessible.

Recently, SteamDB, a platform that monitors backend data for the Steam store, listed FiveM in its system. This discovery has led many to believe that the tool may soon receive a dedicated Steam page for downloads. Although no additional details have been published, confirmation shows that the file is categorized as a Mod that requires the base game to function. Records also show that around ten anonymous users have accessed it in the past, adding to speculation about when the tool will officially launch.

Having a Mod appear on Steam introduces significant convenience for users, since the platform centralizes downloads, updates and required software in a single location. Steam’s update system also allows for quick patching directly through the client. There is growing belief that FiveM may be one of the final officially supported toolsets before Rockstar shifts its full attention toward the online ecosystem for GTA VI in the future.

FiveM was originally developed in 2014 following the PC release of Grand Theft Auto V. It provides support for private network setups for GTA Online and is widely used for role playing communities. It also allows the installation of additional models and custom features. Although it was not officially supported during its early years, Rockstar acquired parts of Cfx.re in 2023, becoming the owner of the development team overseeing FiveM.

FiveM appearing in the Steam database signals a big shift toward mainstream accessibility, and its arrival on the platform could reshape how players create and join private GTA communities as the industry moves closer to the GTA VI era.
