Pokémon Pokopia Reveals New Ad Featuring Former HKT48 Star Sasshi

Pokémon Pokopia Builds Momentum with Idol Icon Sassh
With its release just around the corner, Pokémon Pokopia continues to raise excitement through a new promotional campaign. This time, The Pokémon Company enlisted a familiar face from Japan’s idol scene to lead the spotlight.
Early previews of the game have already generated positive impressions. Therefore, the company has now shifted into its final marketing phase ahead of launch.
Sasshi Takes Center Stage in the Latest Commercial
The first promotional video highlights a unique gameplay mechanic involving Ditto. In the clip, Ditto copies Pokémon abilities and applies them creatively during gameplay. To make the moment more memorable, the video features Rino Sashihara, widely known as “Sasshi.” (Koisuru Fortune Cookie Music Center, Former HKT48 Member)
Sasshi appears alongside rapper Mahina, dancing playfully while mimicking Bulbasaur’s Vine Whip move. Although she no longer performs as an idol, her on-screen presence remains strong and charismatic. Notably, Sasshi previously served as the center performer for the hit song Koisuru Fortune Cookie, later adapted across Asia as “Fortune Cookie.”
Gameplay Showcase Highlights Multiplayer Features
Meanwhile, a second video focuses on relaxed gameplay rather than spectacle. In this segment, Mahina plays in handheld mode, while Sasshi uses a television setup. Despite the different play styles, both connect seamlessly through the game’s online systems.
Players can communicate using the in-game chat feature and explore the world together. Pokémon Pokopia supports multiplayer for up to four players, allowing friends to build and adventure together in real time. As a result, the game emphasizes shared creativity rather than competition.
A Cozy Pokémon Experience With Creative Freedom
Pokémon Pokopia introduces a cozy life simulation concept within the Pokémon universe. The story centers on Ditto, who transforms into a trainer and lives alongside Pokémon companions. Together, they rebuild a community from the ground up.
Players collect materials, craft items, and shape the voxel-style environment freely. They can dig terrain, create waterfalls, design homes, and manage farms. Because of this flexibility, the game appeals strongly to fans of relaxed, creative gameplay.
Release Date and Platform Details
Pokémon Pokopia is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5. With its cozy tone, multiplayer focus, and strong promotional push, the game positions itself as a standout life simulation for Pokémon fans in the SEA region and beyond.
