Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls Preview – 2D Tag-Team Marvel Fighting Game 2026

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls – The Ultimate Superhero Showdown

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, developed in collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works, brings fan-favorite Marvel heroes into a technical 2D tag-team fighting game. With Arc System Works’ pedigree from Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, this title is shaping up as one of the most anticipated fighting games of 2026.

During Tokyo Game Show 2025, ThisIsGame Thailand tested the game firsthand. The demo featured VS. CPU battles with heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, Doctor Doom, plus newly revealed Spider-Man and Ghost Rider. Each team uses four unique characters, with no duplicates allowed, and battles take place across two dynamic stages—a cityscape and a dinosaur research facility.

Gameplay is technical and strategic. Players assign a Leader, call in teammates for combos, and swap characters mid-fight using the X button. HP is shared across the team, emphasizing teamwork and timing. Long, multi-scene stages allow characters like Spider-Man to fully exploit mobility, making combat feel cinematic and dynamic.

The game’s art direction impresses with a Japanimation twist on Marvel’s Western universe. Even classic characters like Iron Man carry Japanese-inspired design elements, creating a unique visual identity that stands out from typical Marvel games.
