Samsung refreshes its wireless audio lineup
Alongside its latest flagship smartphones, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro at its recent Unpacked event. With this launch, Samsung signals a renewed push into the highly competitive true wireless earbuds market. The new lineup focuses on a redesigned form factor, improved comfort, and deeper AI integration.
This generation introduces a refined blade-style stem design. Compared to earlier models, the earbuds reduce sharp edges and replace them with smoother curves and a flat metallic surface. Samsung also added subtle indents at the touch control area, making it easier to locate buttons by feel alone.
Comfort redesigned through massive data analysis
Samsung claims the Galaxy Buds 4 series was shaped using biometric analysis from over one hundred million ear data points. As a result, both models aim to deliver a more secure and comfortable fit for long listening sessions. This redesign targets users who wear earbuds for extended periods, whether commuting, working, or traveling.
The charging case keeps the familiar transparent lid design. However, Samsung changed how the earbuds sit inside the case. Instead of standing upright, the buds now lie flat, improving balance and ease of removal.
Stronger sound performance, especially on the Pro model
Audio quality sees noticeable upgrades, particularly on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The Pro model features a wider woofer paired with a dedicated tweeter, delivering deeper bass and clearer high frequencies. Together, this setup produces a more natural and detailed sound profile.
Both models support high-resolution audio up to 24bit/96kHz when paired with compatible Samsung devices. In addition, 360 Audio remains available, creating a more immersive spatial sound experience for supported content.
Smarter noise cancellation and safety features
Active Noise Cancellation has also been improved across the lineup. According to Samsung, the new ANC system better blocks low-frequency noise such as bus engines or airplane cabins. This makes the Buds 4 series more suitable for travel and daily commutes.
On the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, Samsung adds a Siren Detect feature. When the earbuds detect emergency vehicle sirens, they automatically switch to Ambient mode, allowing outside sounds to pass through for safety. This feature reflects Samsung’s growing focus on situational awareness.
Hands-free controls and AI integration
One of the standout additions is head gesture control. Users can nod to accept calls or shake their head to reject them without touching the earbuds. This hands-free interaction works well when both hands are occupied.
Moreover, the Galaxy Buds 4 series act as an AI gateway. Users can activate Bixby, Gemini, or Perplexity through voice commands alone. On the Pro model, voice detection automatically lowers ANC and enables Ambient mode when the user starts speaking, then restores noise cancellation once the conversation ends.
Pricing, colors, and availability
Galaxy Buds 4 is priced at approximately USD 165, while the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro launches at around USD 220. Both models come in black and white. The Pink Gold color option for the Pro model is exclusive to Samsung’s online store.
The Galaxy Buds 4 series will be available starting March 11. These earbuds are designed to complement the Galaxy S26 ecosystem, offering seamless integration for users already invested in Samsung devices.
