Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 “Memories of the Old Dream” Launches October 15 With New Agents, Area, and Mystery-Filled Storyline

HoYoverse has officially announced that the highly anticipated Version 2.3 update for Zenless Zone Zero, titled “Memories of the Old Dream”, will go live on October 15 across all platforms. This major update introduces a chilling new chapter filled with mystery and horror, new characters, a brand-new explorable zone, fresh gameplay mechanics, and exciting in-game rewards.

Players will join forces with Spook Shack to investigate supernatural phenomena in the newly unlocked area “Timesworn Hills”, a desolate location known for its rich Lumite Ore deposits. The region hides abandoned research facilities and forgotten experimental sites where eerie legends are born — from disappearing miners and echoing bells deep within the Hollow to mind-reading creatures and hypnotists who lure victims into endless dreams. As mysterious disappearances continue, it’s up to the Proxy to venture into the depths of the Hollow and uncover the truth behind these sinister events.

The update also introduces three new Agents to the battlefield:

• Lucia (S-Rank, Ether Support) can manifest Ethereal projections during combat. By building Dream Points, she enters a Dream state and activates Ether Veil: Wellspring, boosting the team’s Max HP and overall damage output.
• Yidhari (S-Rank, Ice Slash) thrives on high-risk, high-reward combat. Her Sheer Force scales with Max HP, and her Ice damage bypasses enemy defenses. The lower her HP, the more devastating her attacks become.
• Komano Manato (A-Rank, Fire Slash) enhances Sheer Force based on Max HP, while returning favorites Vivian (Ether) and Ju Fufu (Fire Stun) will rerun in the latest update.

Version 2.3 also brings extensive balance adjustments and new features. Soldier 0 – Anby will receive improved combat mechanics and enhanced potential unlocks, significantly boosting battle performance. A new gameplay mode, “Crisis Simulation,” challenges players to strategically build and train multiple teams to handle complex combat scenarios. The “As Long As the Dream Lasts” event introduces a turn-based gameplay mode where players control various monsters and deploy tactics to clear challenges, earning Komano Manato as a free reward. Fan-favorite event “Snap! The Brilliant Invasion” returns with expanded photo features, more camera freedom, filters, and frames for even more creative battle snapshots.

The story of New Eridu continues to evolve, revealing glimpses of the game’s future. Upcoming Agents Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang will soon join the roster. As a thank-you gift, all Proxies logging in during Version 2.3 will receive 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, 10 Boopons, and 600 Polychrome.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 “Memories of the Old Dream” will be available on PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC, iOS, and Android starting October 15. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and 12+ by PEGI.
